Hay Yld = Hay Yield
This column lists the yield and frequency of harvest of hay rating in each rating area. On the sample profile there is no hay land, so the column under hay yield is blank. The first letter of the symbol is for hay yield. Hay yield can be heavy (H), medium (M), light (L), or poor (P). The second letter describes the frequency of harvest. Hay can be harvested every other year. This describes a biennial (B) harvest frequency. Hay that is harvested every year has an annual (A) harvest frequency.

 

Abbreviations:

HA = Annual harvest more than 1.50 tons/acre
HB = Biennial harvest greater than or equal to 1.00 ton/acre and less than 1.50 tons/acre
LA = Annual harvest greater than or equal to 0.75 tons/acre and less than 1.00 ton/acre
LB Biennial harvest greater than or equal to 0.75 tons/acre and less than 1.00 ton/acre
MA = Annual harvest greater than or equal to 1.00 ton/acre and less than 1.50 tons/acre
MB = Biennial harvest greater than or equal to 1.00 ton/acre and less than 1.50 tons/acre
PA = Annual harvest less than 0.75 tons/acre
PB = Biennial harvest less than 0.75 tons/acre
